How Long Does a B2B Website Take to Build?

A focused B2B site typically takes eight to fourteen weeks from kickoff to launch. The build itself is rarely the constraint. Content production, internal approvals and integrations are what set the real timeline, and the projects that overrun are almost always the ones waiting on copy or on a decision nobody has been made responsible for.

Where the time goes

  • Weeks 1–2. Structure: what the site needs to do commercially, and the page architecture that serves it.
  • Weeks 3–6. Content and design in parallel. This is where most delay accumulates.
  • Weeks 6–11. Build, CMS setup, integrations with CRM and marketing automation.
  • Weeks 11–14. Technical SEO, redirect mapping, testing, launch.

The step teams skip

Redirect mapping. Launching a new site without mapping every old URL to its new equivalent discards search visibility that took years to build, and the damage is not obvious for weeks. It is unglamorous work and it protects more value than anything else in the project.

How to make it faster

Name one decision-maker, agree the content plan before design begins, and be honest about which pages actually earn their place. Most B2B sites are larger than they need to be, and every extra page is content someone has to write and maintain.
